We're excited to introduce “Guacamaya” (yes, named after one of the most beautiful birds in the world), our newest Honduran coffee that greets you with a comforting panela sweetness, followed by warm notes of hazelnut, a touch of milk chocolate, and a lingering sweet finish. Perhaps a new favorite?
This coffee represents a carefully selected collection of exceptional microlots from smallholder producers in the mountains of La Paz. Each contributing microlot was selected through a process of close collaboration, careful evaluation, and a shared commitment to excellence. The result is a coffee that brings together the best of the best—not from a single farm, but from a community of producers whose individual efforts combine to create something greater. Hundreds of coffee samples were evaluated through cupping to select only those microlots that really stood out. Guacamaya celebrates what can happen when excellent individual coffees become part of a shared pursuit of excellence. Shared because the ten smallholder producers who contributed to this lot do more than grow excellent coffee; they share knowledge, exchange techniques, and support one another in the pursuit of a better way. When producers have opportunities to develop their expertise, share what they learn, and have their hard work recognized, the results can extend far beyond a single harvest. Guacamaya gives us an opportunity to celebrate not only the quality of the coffee, but also the people whose work makes that quality possible.
